Star Wars: The Old Republic has spent Electronic Arts hundreds of millions of dollars, so when the publisher announced that developer BioWare's massively multiplayer online game was going free-to-play final year, the news came as a shock... but not much of a surprise .

The subscribers didn't stick with it, and the game was struggling in less than a year right after it was launched in December 2011. Of course, the free-to-play options include restrictions and the subscribers get SWTOR Credits special rewards.

Right now, on the other hand, Jeff Hickman, the executive producer reported within a "State in the Game" post on how those huge changes have impacted The Old Republic for the better. It has been about four months since the release on the free-to-play version. He said that because then, greater than 2 million new accounts have been created and thousands are joining each and every day.

"Even although there's bound to become dissent about every single aspect of MMOs on the internet these days, player feedback, in general, has been pretty optimistic in regards to the new points within the game," wrote Hickman. "We're committed to continuing our eight-week new content material cadence and are seeking forward for the launch in the initial digital expansion, Rise of the Hutt Cartel, this spring."

Hickman also announced a ne feature for early summer time, which enables players to work with Cartel coins to transform their character's physical attributes and species.

"Our significant focus after Rise of your Hutt Cartel launches is going to become on 'quality of life' improvements," he wrote. "We will preserve at it, I guarantee. We'll retain listening to your feedback and continue to dedicate ourselves to creating the game the most beneficial it could be. Nothing is far more crucial to us than acquiring it proper."

The players of Star Wars: The Old Republic are discussing the open letter within the neighborhood forums. Welcome to join us at IGXE.Com and buy SWTOR credits on-line.
