It is the right move, in my view: limited time fortnite items modes are among the greatest things Forntite has going for it, and since additions like Thanos reveal, they are just getting better. And because there are obviously enough countless players to support matchmaking for five modes across four platforms, Epic doesn't really eliminate anything by giving us a bit more flexibility regarding how we'd like to play with.
I guess that running 50 vs. 50 alongside Thanos is providing us a little preview of how this is going to work going forward. Epic will keep iterating with fresh, more eccentric ideas along the lines of the Infinity Gauntlet mode whilst simultaneously giving us some of the tried and true modes it is used previously: things like Sniper Shootout, Blitz and Heavy Explosives which, while fun, really only represent slight tweaks to the way the game functions. Running more than one simultaneously makes it possible for the staff to push the boundaries a little bit more.
We'll see how things grow, but at this point, I would not be surprised to see something else come out of left field next Tuesday. In the meantime, I will be trying to score volatile skills by shooting aimlessly to the enemy horde.
