By Liam Gilroy on April 14, 2014 at 11:51 am Ok, so this is a little confusing Elite: Dangerous is getting ready to enter thePremium Beta' phase of its development, which it will do on the 30th of May when it sends out the full, multiRunescape player build of the Runescape game to those who purchased the £100.00 Premium Beta. In the meantime however, PC Runescape gamer reports that Premium Beta backers can now get access to the single Runescape player combat build, just to make things confusing.Before the full Premium Beta build rolls out at the end of next month, Frontier Developments plans to release a fourth alpha build, with some significant upgrades along with the full Milky Way galaxy map featuring roughly 400,000,000,000 star systems, phase four will introduce two types of faster than light travel to Elite: Dangerous hyperspace for traveling between systems andsuper-cruise' for traveling between planets inside systems. Spacebase DF-9, the sci-fi building sim being built by Double Fine, has managed to recoup the US$400,000 investment within a mere fortnight. This is an important milestone for us because the success of this experiment opens the door for us to support more projects of this magnitude in the future, the fund said on their blog. They stressed to add that it wouldn't change their investment strategies going forward, meaning that smaller projects like Monaco and The Swapper, the latter of which Stephen reviewed and absolutely loved, will continue to be supported. Our bottleneck has always been finding promising projects to invest in, not lack of funds it also provides an encouraging data point about bringing together larger groups of people to support larger projects, and we are mulling over what this might mean for the future of Indie Fund.
