FIFA said: ‘The decision was designed to permit the council to appoint members while on an interim basis to the vacant positions with the new committees so they can start fulfilling their roles included in the ongoing reform process prior to the next FIFA Congress inside 2017.
‘In addition, the measure allows with the swift removal of members who have breached their obligations. The council fully respects the independence from the audit and compliance and also the ethics committees, and any suggestions towards contrary are without advantage. ’
‘Pending the appointment of your new chairman of the audit and compliance committee, current deputy chairman Sindi Mabaso Koyana can serve as acting chairman. ’
